Questions people ask.
Do I need to install anything?
No. SquadraCAD (pre-alpha) runs in Chrome on a computer; it downloads about 8 MB once and starts from the cache after that. Edge, Firefox and Safari are being tested.
Where are my designs stored?
Geometry is computed on your own machine. The document itself is saved on our server with every change, so nothing is lost. You can export STL and 3MF at any time.
What does pre-alpha mean?
That it is early. Today SquadraCAD makes single parts; there are no drawings or assemblies yet, and things change often. The changelog and the roadmap are public, so you can see what moves.
What is in the free plan?
Five active documents and five exports in total, which never reset. Exporting the same part in several formats counts as one. The plan does not expire; after twelve months without signing in we ask you to reactivate the account, and your designs stay.
What is the Founder plan?
A one-time payment of 149 € for three years of Pro, only during the pre-alpha and limited to 200 seats. It includes a Founder badge forever and every future module. Full refund within 15 days, and a pro-rata refund if the service ever closed.
Can I export STEP?
Not yet. STL and 3MF are available today; STEP and other formats are on the roadmap.
Can I work with other people?
Yes, with Pro: invite people by email or share a link to a project. One person edits a file at a time; the others see it read-only.
How does the AI assistant work?
Through MCP, with your own AI account, for example Claude. The assistant reads and builds your models as editable history. It is part of Pro; we do not sell or manage AI credits.
